Fire safety legislation in the UK changed on 1 October 2006, with the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. There is now a legal requirement for all places, (except single private dwellings), to have a 'suitable and sufficient' Fire Risk Assessment carried out by a competent person.

A properly completed fire risk assessment will ensure the safety of all relevant personnel in and around the premises, contribute to the protection of property and facilitate compliance with the current fire legislation. (It may also be possible to secure lower insurance premiums as a result!)
